What We Believe

We believe that God is the One and Only, Sovereign God.  God defines Himself, and God reveals Himself to us as He chooses.

We believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.  Nothing in creation “just happened.” God made it all.

We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.  He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  He suffered under the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate; He was crucified, died, and was buried.  He descended to the dead.  On the third day he rose again.  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal Church, the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

We believe that human beings are self-obsessed sinners and cannot save themselves from God’s true righteousness and justice.

We believe that persons are saved by God’s initiative, by His grace through faith.  We have not earned or deserved this grace.

When we receive God’s gift of salvation, we are forgiven of all of our sins--past, present, and future.

When forgiven, God’s Holy Spirit comes to live in us.

The Holy Spirit mentors us into holy living and a greater obedience within the context of the Church.

The Church is the Body of Christ, led by our Lord Jesus to speak and serve in a sin bound world.

Jesus will return, and we will have an incorruptible body similar to His resurrected body.

Jesus’ final return will initiate a Day of Judgment upon those who reject Jesus.

Eternal  blessedness and eternal punishment are real conditions in different destinations.
