Adult Discipleship Development
OBJECTIVES AND GOALS
We desire to produce individuated, interdependent people who love and exclusively worship God and who readily serve and obey Him.
This objective is reached through a communal process of development with a series of goals . We seek to faithfully evangelize people in our area unto salvation, firmly plant them in our fellowship, stabilize and grow them through discipleship, so that they realize their ministry in the Church and mission in the world.
STABILITY: Stability in the foundation is essential for any sustained growth. Without such stability, a person’s life will continue to collapse.
Marriage: Having submitted to Christ, that the couple submits to one another as the husbands love their wives and the wives respect their husbands (Ephesians 5:21-33).

Children. That the children are given the attention, proper care, and training needed to become stable adults.

Finances. To obediently tithe, and develop a plan, the discipline, and support network to deal with debt and habitual spending.

Emotional (Addictions). To live an emotionally balanced life, healed of past damages, freed of disabling behaviors, and without destructive substances.

Moral. To know basic Biblical ethical parameters, to overcome immoral habits, and to live within the parameters learning to channel impulses, desires, and feelings in godly directions.

Spiritual. To come into a exclusive relationship with God through Jesus Christ alone. To reject idols, spiritual entities and practices, and worldviews that will disable the Christian life at inception.

BASIC SKILLS: The adult development objective necessitates a renunciation of Evil, ascent to Biblical revelation, a personal faith, and a commitment to the Church’s mission: external--to the world, internal--in the fellowship, and personal--in one’s life. These core convictions are initiated through he Welcome class and professed during the membership ceremony.

Competence to Develop Basic Spiritual Tools and Relationships:Bible Study, Prayer, Worship, Fellowship, Witness, and Giving.
WHAT DISCIPLES MUST KNOW, THINK, WANT, and DO: Stable, with basic skills established, the newer adult disciples can grow into mature, balanced Christian persons who come to know their ministry in Trinity Church and their mission in the world. .
