Children

We value children and it is our desire to partner with you in the Christian formation and spiritual development of your children.

The Bible makes it quite clear that children are uniquely special to God

Your Children’s Ministry believes that there are 2 goals that will help ensure that children will continue in a life-long relationship with God and the church.

1) The ability to truly and authentically worship God - The glue that sticks   kids to Christ, uninterrupted for life, is worshipping God. Authentically worshipping God comes from truly knowing who God is. Here’s what that entails:

A clear picture of Jesus  (Biblical knowledge).

A concise understanding of how to come into a relationship with Jesus (Plan of Salvation).

An accurate, Biblical understanding of the means of growth in Jesus (A Sanctified life)

A focused and lively Spirituality.  They know how and want to talk with and listen to God.  They competently apply the Biblical texts to their lives.

2)  A stable and faithful, Spirit led life.  We seek to produce kids who have a sense of:

personal value--”I am God’s child,”

compassion  “I care about you”

purpose-- “God has a plan, and my life is to serve Him”

meaning--”I have an awe for the things of God, a sense of what is true, a special place to serve, and a promise of Heaven when I die,”

morality--”I know what is right and wrong,”

We believe these are two major means to these goals:

1) Friendships with Christian peers.  We encourage an experience of  Jesus within the setting of a nurturing community.  Such a gracious context inspires a desire for learning and an openness to experience GodChildren come to church, especially in the teen years, because of “who else will be there”. We need to develop these relationships now so they stay connected through the teen years.

2) Developing relationships with adult mentors while learning about God – Children are led to Christ through relationships with adult mentors who show and model Christ's love and grace.

We are committed to providing a safe environment where your children can engage in fun activities where they can learn to know God, develop caring relationships with adult mentors, meet new friends and strengthen relationships in a Christian way. We help them experience the stories of the Bible in a way that is relevant to their young lives.
